Bringing together my experience in research, business, and founder roles helps me find the “why” in my work, whether it’s the key insights behind a particular game’s success or the driving forces shaping the industry’s future.
What is your favorite video game? Why?
Just one? I’ve got a soft spot for Pokémon Sapphire on GBA – it’s one of the first games I played all the way through multiple times and the one that truly made me fall in love with gaming.
What is your role at IDG?
Day-to-day, I work as part of our consulting team, carrying out projects ranging from data-driven analysis work to futurist predictions to help our clients make better games. Beyond that, I’m always thinking about what’s next in gaming and where the industry is going, and contributing to IDG’s thought piece offerings.
What is your background/experience in the games industry?
I’ve been at IDG for more than 3 years, previously working in our Syndicated team. Prior to that, I was part of a research lab that applied game design principles to app design. But I feel like my most valuable experience in gaming comes from playing games my whole life on everything from the Sega Genesis to the latest iPhone.

“Intelligence is about answering two very important questions; why and what next? Over the last 5 years we’ve partnered with Yoshio and the IDG team, we’ve worked together in high level strategy products to local tactical engagements helping fuel the growth for Wargaming and enabling my team to focus on implementing the how. IDG has consistently delivered insight around trends driving the industry, competitive intensity in exploratory markets, and easy to understand data visualizations unpacking complex metrics in bite size form.”

“Milestone has been working with IDG for many years, and the level of collaboration could not be higher. The support provided by the company has played a role of great value over time: their quarterly reports are a fundamental tool to analyze trends, preferences and users’ tastes and they provide very good support for our strategic decisions. In addition to periodic analysis, Milestone also works with IDG for ad hoc evaluations, always managing to have precise, rapid and extremely useful answers for our business. IDG has even been an incredible supporter for us in looking for a partner in the US, and they followed up with us step-by-step with enthusiasm and dedication. We will be always grateful to Anton, Yoshio and the whole IDG team.”
